While this year's F.I.S.H. may be over, F.I.S.H. 2011 is only a year away!
What is F.I.S.H.?
F.I.S.H. is an acronym for Forever I Serve Him and is a justice and service project which occurs each summer through the combined effort of several Dallas parishes. This past year, we traveled to El Paso, Texas.
El Paso in “Far West Texas” is a place rich in cultural traditions. But within this rich culture, we find communities in need called “Colonias”.
During the Summer of 2010, over 120 high school youth and adults traveled to El Paso for a week of service. Participants assisted in basic renovation and maintenance of the most needed homes and community buildings. We also lead a Vatcation Bible School in our host parish community.
Evenings are spent in fellowship, prayer, faith formation, social justice education, fun activities, and community interaction. Friday we havea “free day” activity.
