June 13th, Sunday– Mission Possible Kick-off with Rally by Jessica Volcansek and
Jason Deuterman and Mass at St. Joseph’s!
June 14-16th, Mon.-Wed.– Crews go to different sites for an array of service activities.
June 17th, Thursday– Fun day at Hawaiian Falls!
“Mission Possible” is an “Inter-parish,” Diocesan supported, in-town service week. 2010 marks the 16th year for this event!!! Each summer our Catholic Community has been blessed to have approximately 1,100 participants who are willing to brave the heat…get off the couch…and SERVE!!!
On Sunday, June 13th at 3:00 p.m. our week will begin as we gather at Holy Family, and then travel to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Richardson to kick off with ALL Mission Possible participants! The rally will be lead by speakers Jessica Volcansek and Jason Deuterman as they lead us in music and celebration! Directly following the rally will be Mass with the newly ordained, Auxiliary Bishop Mark Seitz! All participants and their families are encouraged to join us on Sunday for the rally and Mass!
Monday thru Thursday of that week, participants will gather at HFN each morning at 7:00am and travel to St. Ann’s by7:30 a.m. They will gather in work crews, based upon prescribed Adult to Youth ratios and transportation, and participate in crew team building activities and large group activities, fun and prayer. Crews will travel to different service sites each day, in an effort to expose participants to a variety of service opportunities. Each participant brings their own lunch and the crews take time at their service site to eat, process their day and pray together. Time will be spent each day directed toward “service learning” activities based on our Catholic Social Teachings.
The cost for Youth participants is Regional fee $50,which covers rally, snacks, T-shirts, supplies for the week and fun day at Hawaiian Falls. Additional Donations are graciously accepted and will be used for scholarships and supplies!
Since space availability for participants is based on the number of “Cleared” Adults committed to the week, registrants will be notified by the Total Youth Ministry office if they are put on the list of participants OR have been placed on a wait list!!!
Participants will be emailed (or mailed) additional specific information.
This week is only possible with the help of caring Adult Leaders!!! Space availability for Youth participation is based on the number of “Cleared” Adult Leaders who are willing to commit to the week!!! Baby Sitting for younger children is provided.
